Lingo Troubles

A bit of gawking is in order!

Jake is taking the easy route while trying to add the French translation feature to his Careless Memories blog. Instead of using what little knowledge he has of the French language in addition to extra effort and study, he is using the simple cut-and-paste method of translating text.

After typing the context he intends to post, he guilelessly copies the text, inserts it into an English-to-French translator, then copies the French text and pastes it beneath his original.

Either the purpose of this action is to clumsily proclaim his faddy affection for the French language or to courteously open up his blog to the French-speaking market.

If the latter is true, we have a silly problem: the translator he uses does not accurately translate his context. So instead of sound like an intelligent American calling for an audience of Frenchies, he sounds like an American tourist asking a Parisian for directions.

Here (in English) is how a Frenchman would interpret his most recent blog:

"I made him outside with the Jake coffee this morning when… it was simply brilliant. I appreciated one their new dishes of brekfast a simply elegant ham and the cheese crescent accompanied with a couple by the delicious cups by coffee. The service is impeccable, not to mention the waiter is a large piece. While resting with the coffee… you can see the myriad of birds who fly in the two directions by the trees ombrageants beutiful. It is simply brilliant."

I suppose giving him a break is also in order. Keep working on it Jake!
